Just keep Swimming

IP started his swim lessons on Tuesday and did very well. After a week of not-so-great behavior, I was worried about IP's ability to follow instructions with a new swim teacher. Well, he suprised me again and was an excellent student. He has no fear of water, so I'm sure he will take to swimming like a fish. Just keep your mouth closed when you go under water IP!

It's my birthday!

It's my birthday and I'll eat all 24 of these delicious hot cookies if I want to. Thanks Josh for ordering cold milk to be delivered with them. I ruv them good!

Galveston Island

We rented a condo with Grandma for three nights on Galveston Island. We played on the beach, visited Moody Gardens, and sailed on the Bolivar ferry. On Sunday, IP and I visited a little shell shop I loved when I was a little girl. I tried to encourage IP to select a shell souvenir, but he decided that dried starfish smell. He chose a little seashell wind chime and a scuba diver toy action set. Grandpa, Grammi and Uncle Mike drove down from Houston to meet us at Gaido's for Sunday dinner to celebrate my 36th birthday. On Monday, IP was able to touch a live starfish at the Moody Gardens aquarium. IP enjoyed watching the scuba diver clean the glass in the shark tank more than watching the sharks. When asked what he enjoyed most about the holiday, IP replied, "Swimming on the ocean humps!"

The Licking Boy

IP started "new school" on Monday and loved it! Only big boys and big girls are in the summer camp and there are no babies. (IP defines a baby as anyone who wears a diaper.) He received a good report other than he licked his friends. Yuck... He knew licking irritated the children, so he kept doing it for the negative attention. The little pack of Kindergarten girls really don't like the "Licking Boy." Poor IP, he's the youngest child at summer camp and is having trouble socializing with the big kids. Most of the day he is with the PreK3 and PreK4 kids. Of course, there are times in the day where more children share common facilities and they run the risk of getting licked by the Licking Boy! The second morning, the little pack of girls approached me in the gym and complained about the licking. A mother of an older child even asked me what was going on. When I explained IP was only 3, she laughed and didn't seem to mind so much. IP didn't lick as much on his second day. Hopefully today, his third day, he will cease entirely.

Dallas Zoo - May 2008

After visiting the Dallas Zoo, we finally met our new niece, Julia. Unfortunately, I ran out of camera memory and don't have a single picture of her. DARN! We spent the night at Kendra and Erroll's while Nana had IP all to herself. Kendra and I went shopping on Sunday while the guys golfed.
