New Year's Day, we set off on our seven hour journey to
Silverton. The drive went very well until poor
IP vomited. We think he was car sick after watching his Dinosaur movie on Dad's laptop. I, as usual, ran around like a chicken with its head cut off changing
IP while Dad wiped throw up out of the car. Yuck... Anyway, the rest of the trip was uneventful. We ate at the next Dairy Queen and
IP quickly ate half a hamburger and half a
hotdog with no problems! We stopped for a few photos of the canyon just before arriving at
Pop's house.

When we arrived,
IP helped feed the deer. On this trip, we brought Tojo with us and Tojo had a great time playing with Twiggy the dachshund. That evening, we enjoyed a ham dinner and opened more Christmas gifts. Dinosaurs, dinosaurs everywhere. The next day, Nana Christine and
IP worked on a miniature dinosaur dig and spent a lot of time dusting and chipping away sand-chalk from a T-Rex skull.
IP and Pops read books and we spent a lot of time relaxing. For dinner, we stuffed our faces with yummy T-bone steaks. While grilling the steaks outside, the deer decided to visit
us again. As long as we didn't speak, they would stand still and stare at us. The deer were interested yet very cautious when Tojo was on the patio. I believe they thought he was a skunk! Saturday morning, we set off for home. Luckily, this year we didn't kill any animals on the road. (RIP poor pheasant on 3-17-08) This trip, we saw 20 or so mule dear, a very large black hog (dead with his feet in the air) and many hawks out hunting field mice.
