Trip to the Dentist

All three of us went to Josh's dental appointment this morning. IP had a blast. He identified the drill, explorer, mirror and x-ray camera all by himself. We watched the dentist clean Dad's teeth, drill a cavity, insert a filling, and take plaster impressions for his night guard. Our regular hygienist was out, so the dentist cleaned Dad's teeth. IP looked at Dad's x-rays and said, "oh, scary face." He was referring to a skull/skeleton. What great entertainment! I was under the impression IP would have his teeth cleaned today too. (Maybe our dentist really didn't have enough time.) Instead we just had an "introduction" appointment. IP was ready for a cleaning as we have been preparing him for a dental visit for a couple of months. Instead, IP was allowed to try out the reclining chair, look at some of the dental tools up close and the hygienist inspected his teeth. She announced he had pretty teeth and was brushing very well!
