The big, green caterpillar we found the first weekend in May at the garden center is now a black swallowtail butterfly. He is fabulous! All three of us we're thrilled like little kids last night as we transplanted him from his jar to the butterfly habitat. Tuesday, we found another black, red and white caterpillar on the parsley plant by the front door. Maybe he's another variety of swallowtail?
