Field Trip

To celebrate the end of Summer Camp, IP and his school went on a field trip Tuesday. He attended a play at Dougherty Arts Center, ate lunch in Zilker Park and road the Zilker Zephyr miniature train. IP was most excited about riding the school bus to the theatre, the city bus to the park and the school bus back to campus. This morning Ms. Betty raved about IP's great behavior. She was happily surprised as she was expecting a difficult day herding eight preschoolers on and off buses. IP sat quietly and intently throughout the entire performance of "Duckie Sees the World" and didn't move an inch according to Ms. Betty. IP later described the duck and the frog costumes to me. IP was tuckered out after a full day and fell asleep on the bus ride back to campus at 3:30. "No nap for everybody!" exclaimed IP when I picked him up from school. IP also told me the buses did not have seat belts and that was not safe. You are so right IP! Why do we put kids on school buses with no seat belts?
