July Fun

IP saved up his allowance/tokens for a new Batman action figure. This is IP's first action hero and so I guess he is officially a big boy... sigh. Originally, he wanted an Ironman, but Batman was on sale and IP had just enough funds to take Batman home. We have made several trips to Target's toy isle this month to admire and inspect all options before buying. IP started earning his own toys in late May. His very first purchase was a Nerf suction cup dart gun. His second purchase was a Mario T-shirt and short set. He has really worked hard on his behavior these past two months. With this new compensation program in place, we don't buy/give toys to IP. When he sees something he wants, we just say wonderful, put it on his wish list and then he saves. IP doesn't complain because we don't have to say no in store and he has a little more control over his "I want or I need." The big lesson is understanding the value of items and developing a work ethic.
IP and I have been visiting the library and keeping busy. One day the library had horse guests. Since it was already over 100F at 10AM, we didn't stay very long. Even IP said, "This isn't fun anymore." The heat is really making our outings miserable.
Aunt Amy, Cousin E and Cousin Kyle came to visit. I managed to take the boys to Round Rock just in time to see the bats under the McNeil bridge. Amy passed on the stinky opportunity and stayed home with Cousin E. It was really fun having them stay with us.
