Butterflies, Bluebonnets & Big Al

On Saturday morning, we visited the Houston Natural Science Museum and Cockrell Butterfly Exhibit. The butterflies were out in full force; we had a beautiful experience. As you know, IP is a novice paleontologist, so when his eyes caught Big Al 2 the allosaurus fossil in the gift shop, IP fell in love. It was almost as if IP was meeting a celebrity like Mickey Mouse at Disney World. IP highly recommends the movie, Allosaurus: A Walking with Dinosaurs Special Season 1, featuring the life of Big Al. (We download it from Netflix frequently).

We stopped on our drive home to take a few photos of the bluebonnets near Navasota.

We came home from Houston to find 2 caterpillars and 3 chrysalises waiting for us. Last night, we transplanted all 5 chrysalises into the butterfly home. That's not a fuzzy black and white caterpillar; it's Tojo.
